Ormandy received the award for their bespoke semi-instantaneous, domestic hot water generator which utilises a PHE and an additional storage vessel to satisfy peak demands. Skid packaged with controls and interconnecting pipework; it is essentially a turnkey solution once commissioned.

But why is this product different to anything else on the market? The answer lies in its ability to achieve 60°C DHW on the secondary side, whilst still maintaining a semi-instantaneous product. The conventional way of using immersion heaters, doesn’t allow the water to heat up quickly enough to be instantaneous, however by incorporating an inline flow heater and a good control system, the product maintains its ability to provide instantaneous domestic hot water.

The product was designed and developed in-house at our manufacturing facility in Bradford, with the concept tried and tested over many months via a purpose-built test rig to ensure the required performance is achieved.
The concept is a fairly new, innovative solution, but ideal when working with low carbon and renewable heat sources, combined with Ormandy’s expertise for bespoke heating and cooling design solutions.
