JAMES WINS THE “DAVID DUTCH APPRENTICESHIP AWARD” FOR THE SECOND TIME

Congratulations to James Walters who once again is the winner of the ‘David Dutch Apprenticeship Award’ for 2021.

Since James first won the award a year ago, he has made tremendous progress, achieving his Level 2 qualification and working towards his “Level 3 Advanced Fabrication and Welding” Qualification.

James is also working with both copper and stainless steel on a daily basis and showing first-rate results with his high-quality welds. In fact, James’s talent is so good, he has submitted a test piece in copper to “Third Party Inspection Services” which, if approved, will make him a qualified Coded Welder for that material.

James, who started with Ormandy in 2019, was presented with his award by David Dutch’s son, Stuart, and Ormandy Production Manager, Richard Newton. James also received a cheque in recognition of his commitment and hard work.

Chris Eames, Production Director, said of James. “James is very talented and enthusiastic with an excellent attitude and a passion to learn and progress. The whole production team are very proud of him and how far he has come in such a short period of time.”

Our policy at Ormandy continues to be ‘grow your own’ and with our first-class apprenticeship scheme proving to be very successful, we have engaged two more enthusiastic apprentices earlier this year.

Congratulations again to James for his valuable contribution on the shop floor and good luck to our two new apprentices. If they follow in James footsteps, they won’t go far wrong!
