Swansea Arena, due to open in 2021 is a landmark indoor arena built by Swansea City Council to attract the worlds top music acts and theatre productions.

CMB Engineering, the MEP contractor, appointed Ormandy for this prestigious project to build two bespoke plantrooms, to supply all the hot water and heating demand for the venue.

Ormandy were engaged in the project from an early stage & worked closely with the client, enabling the build time to be reduced by half to 13 weeks!

Furthermore, building the fully fitted plantrooms offsite, gave the following benefits:

· Less labour required on-site.
· High quality finish, fully tested prior to delivery.
· Reduced site supervision and improved Health & Safety.
· Manufacturing quality is better controlled in the factory environment.

The plantrooms were fitted with external cladding & positioned on the roof with additional Evoplates incorporated for specific heating & hot water storage.
