Six PHE Packages for Historic Brewery Site

In July 2013 Wandsworth Council’s planning committee granted consent for the redevelopment of the historic Brewery site in Wandsworth. The development delivered, 661 new homes to the borough, 36 storey landmark residential tower designed by EPR architects, plus 9,500 sq. m of space dedicated to new shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. Around 200 car parking spaces were also created.

The 170m development needed to preserve many of the site’s historic buildings which will be restored and refurbished. A microbrewery and a brewing museum were also part of the completed scheme.

The development generated around 500 new permanent jobs and 350 construction jobs, and the river Wandle was opened and landscaped, to provide public access along a new riverside walk.

The brief:

The development required the delivery of hot and cold water, as well as heating to all of the homes, shops and facilities within the area.

These services needed to be both instantaneous, for use throughout the day, as well as having some form of thermal storage to cope with peak times first thing in the morning.

The solution

We supplied PHE Skid Mounted Packaged Systems for the redevelopment, to stringent, quality assurance checks, with full hydraulic testing prior to despatch.
